The properties of steel include high hardness index, strength of 1700 Kilopascals, and resilience of 39 Joules per square centimeter. Additionally, the steel is resistant to sea and fresh water, 20% alkaline solutions, organic substances, preserved when heated up to 600 C, the blades are hardened up to HRC 58- 60. ZOK also used the famous Damascus steel for its knives. The solid basis of traditional black Damask is laminated spring silicochromium steel 70C2XA. 1.7% Si and 0.4% Cr add high wear-resistance and a razor’s sharpness to the blade’s cutting edge.
